Introduction 

The year 2003 marks the 75th Anniversary of the opening of Playland Amusement Park in Rye, New York. Since its opening in 1928, Playland has been one of the premier family amusement areas in the nation. It continues to be one of the few amusement parks in the country owned and operated by municipal government.

To commemorate this momentous occasion of the 75th Anniversary, The Friends of Parks, Recreation and Conservation in Westchester, which is a 501c3 corporation and part of the County of Westchester, has asked Razamataz! Events Unlimited to create and produce celebratory corporate sponsorship opportunities to permit our neighbors to establish a relationship with Playland in this special year.

These sponsorships will enable Playland to enhance their event schedule and offer a wider variety of special attractions and added value to the community during the 75th Anniversary Celebration year.

Partnering with this family orientated amusement park would be a beneficial business relationship in one of the most affluent and influential greater metropolitan areas in the country.

For the 75th Anniversary Celebration, numerous additional functions are planned, including a $350 a plate Dinner Gala scheduled for May 7, 2003 with a souvenir journal, a childrens magazine, the construction of a Walk of Fame in the Park and an enhanced free concert series.

Playland commissioned Global Strategy Group, Inc. to conduct an intercept and phone survey that confirmed high levels of awareness and loyalty to Playland. Other findings include:

1.) The Park attracts a family audience who perceive it as safe, clean and a good value;
2.) The average family expenditure exceeds $70 per visit;
3.) The vast majority of visitors are college-educated;
 4.) 57% of Park visitors come because of Kiddyland, and
5.) The visitors geographic origins are widespread

CHRYSLER JEEP BECOME THE "OFFICIAL AUTOMOBILES" OF PLAYLAND 75th ANNIVERSARY

Westchester County Executive Andy Spano said "We are thrilled that Yonkers and White Plains Chrysler Jeep have signed on as the first sponsor for Playland's 75th Season Celebration.   The season will be filled with special programming at our historic Amusement Park, thanks in part to Chrysler Jeep."  The County Executive continued, "The Friends of Parks in Westchester is off to a great start in assisting Playland during their very special anniversary.  I thank them for their efforts."

Playland Fun Zone Childrens Magazine

In addition to all of the traditional marketing opportunities, we have developed a special possibility for the right sponsor. This is a conceptualized Playland 75th Anniversary Fun Zone Magazine to be produced by a sponsor. This magazine is envisioned to contain interactive games and puzzles themed to Playlands many Park amenities and targeted to the elementary school aged child.

The magazine would be designed to incorporate the sponsors image and include discount coupons redeemable through the sponsors association with Playland during the season.

There are over 80,000 elementary school children in Westchester County and Playland is the Countys premier park as well as the childrens first and favorite amusement area. Distribution would be direct to each public elementary school in Westchester.

The Playland Walk of Fame

A special area surrounding the entrance fountain is being dedicated to those individuals and families who desire to have their names engraved in granite for perpetuity.

Only 1,300 of these engraved granite bricks will be installed.

Expanded Concert Series

Each year, Playland offers free concerts in the evenings and the opportunity exists for sponsor funded additional concerts in this special anniversary year.

Opening Day 2003 Festivities

Opening Day, May 10, 2003 will be a day of parades, concerts, marching bands, costumed characters and festivities marking the beginning of the 75th year. Be sure to mark your calendar and plan to attend with the whole family
